4 weeks down in Gippsland
and 6 weeks and counting to....
GOING HOME!!!ohh yeah u singapore peeps.. make sure your 1st 2 weeks of July is freee!!!i'm so excitied.. i really can't wait!Working has been extremely tiring with extremely hilarious results over the last 2 weeks.Just so many complicated patients and having to stay back late (and not getting paid either)oh yeah.. medical wards suck.esp now with winter.. where half the pple come in with chest infections anyway.Extremely understanding boss tho.. who wants me to take more hours off to compensate for the extra time i've done.. but... HOW??!?!i'm the typical workoholic now with lots of money and no time to spend.urghs.Anyway.. i felt extremely dumb last week..was with an extremely grumpy patient.. who gets impatient and grumpy if her needs are not met immediately. And she wanted a pad so i said i'll buzz the nurse and was then hunting ard for the nurse call buttonand she went its the red oneand i went " ah ha!" and saw a red nurse assist button on the walland PRESSED ITand set off a deafeningly LOUD emergency assist buttonWithin secs, i had 6 nurses in the room, running through 4 beds trying to look for the source of panicOMG.why are the buttons all so similar anyway?!?!If that wasn;t bad enough,
we ( the OT-steph.. who is the nicest down to earth and one of the prettiest girls i've met--> curly brown hair with sky blue eyes.. she looks like a doll. haha) went on a home visit with a patient after..
in the pouring rain...
getting all soaked
and me nearly killing my back cos of car transfer
in the rain.. having to get the patient in as quickly as possible
and in the rush,
i left the catether (urine) bag's hook ON TOP OF THE CAR.
so during the drive, there was this
CLAAAANG!!and stephie went " whats THAT?!?!?!"and i went " OH MAN! its the HOOK!"
(poor patient who has NO idea whats going on)
and so steph was driving extra carefully up hills and stuff..
and we finally pulled over,
where i hopped out of the car, drenching myself again and retreiving the blasted object (which luckily had not fallen off.. HAHA)
We were laughing so hard after..
the whole day was such a mess..
(home visit went well tho)
and then sat around in the meeting room.. with extremely frizzzy, wet hair..
gorging ourselves on chips and mud cake..
and imagining if we'd actually lost the hook and going up to the nurse going
" Oh. we need a new one. the hook was left in the hills
"
