i watched corpsebride on tues!
yes yes.. late by singapore standards..
well.. blame the movie release date, not me!
i thought it was good.
quirky funny, whimsical and surprisingly touching.
Love the songs..
absolutely magical.
"Yet I feel my heart is achingThough it doesn't beat it's breakingAnd the pain here that I feelTry and tell me it's not realI know that I am deadYet it seems that I still have some tears to shed"
being the cheapo that i am,
i found the entire album online
free.
=)
check it out

sydney was so good.
food wise.
i was eating everywhere.
up the steps..
across the road
licking my icecream while standing next to the pie shop waiting to get my pie.
u get the picture.
i think my family was quite amazed.
going" JOy! please watch where u are going!"
and it was good.. just walking around.. spending time at the beach with fam.. sitting in the breeze, sharing icecream with mom.. and juz watching (in amusement) all the pple taking surfing lessons on bondi.
i have realised somethings..
i love the smell of aircraft fuel when walking across the tarmac
i love air turbulence
and i LOVE melbourne!
(the place to be yeah.. :) )

so sweet"It's my favorite time of day, driving you.
It is the saddest part of my day, leaving you."

Oh the days....
of just laziness...
when the sky seems bluer
the sun shines brighter
the world just seems all good.
(when it is SO not)
Thank God mom's a-ok and so Sydney here i come!! =)
Been extremely sleep deprived these days.
Just CAN'T sleep
Been SO tired. but just can't sleep.
And the days are just so full and hectic.
there's always something on every day which is nice.. but exhausting.
when i can't rest well at the end of the day.
Praise God for good friends and food and fellowship.
No i can't believe its been 5 years.
Anyway.. i baked this really really RICH-TO-THE-MAX double choc torte for the 2 birthday kids.. (brownie-dense on the bottom and light choc mousse on top)
contains like.. 10 eggs.. 400g of (very good 85%) dark choc.. and 1 1/2 blocks (yes blocks) of butter.
Well.. what they don't know won't hurt them.
ha.

heehee. sometimes i still wonder why i spent the last 4 years doing physio.
so we set a new record and stayed out till 3.30am.
(ain't it great with no exams?!? and parents ard. hiaks)
its amazing how the crapping just goes on and on.
and i woke up at 7am today.
its crazy.
this insomia
how to cure it?????
Ps: thanks flojo. I got the stuff today. THANK YOU! so amused by ur card.... am i that perfect that no words can describe me??? i opened it in front of lokhun and burst out laughing. You make him bring all the way.. and then he had to meet me.. and then... u never write ANYTHING?!?!?

overheard during lunch with near new-grad physios(who shall remained un-named)
A: my thumb is really sore! (after our last exam ever)
B: *looks at where Physio A is pointing*
(after 4 years of endless anatomy and memorising every musculoskeletal structure)
Heeeey! that is your..... ................
thumb joint!
i studied 4 years with future workmates who can diganose conditions extremely well.
3:21 PM

it has been an incredibly exhausting week.
emotionally and physically.
and its not over yet.
today is just one of those days, when everthing happens at once.
glad am that one step closer to graduation
3 interviews this wk.
Job offers turned down today
Missed city job by 1 person ( they were offering 2 and i was the 3rd person in mind)
big question mark about sydney trip with family
uncertainy with mom's health.
and her results will be known today.
really praying hard its ok.
gotta go to uni to hand in my grad forms.
i just wanna curl up in a ball.
so so much more tired than during exams.
and at the same time, God keeps reminding me of His presence.
feel so bubble wrapped in His love.
" I will be still, know You are God"

my friend's mom mid life crisis:
getting a 2 door honda integra (the sports version)
i wonder what i'll do when i hit mine.
always wanted to go sky diving one day.
(when i reach my quarter life crisis i reckon.. cos i don't think i'll survive a heart stopping, blood curdling jump at 50..)
Though i HATE roller coasters and such
i dunno why
the though of sky diving really appeals somehow.
weird.

almost there
so close you can nearly touch the finish line
As gretel said before our paper this afternoon
" this is the last 10 meters of the race!! hang in there!"
one last paper tom..which is un-studiable..
cos its a rotations station thing- OSCE(Objective structured clinical exam)
so tonight's program is...
..
nothingdo you know how good that sounds?
after 2 weeks of mugging, for 8 hours worth of exams spanding 4 yearsand hopfully passing la..
*fingers crossed*
exams are so not good for you.. ending up with lateral epicondilytis,
a very cramped hand
pins and needles going down into my fingers
and a very sore thumb joint
and you forget all the knowledge.. like.. 2 days after.
2 interviews next week.
dunno whaaaaaaat to do
gotta start applying for more jobs.
tonight.
gonna snuggle up with a cuppa tonight and watch Tim Burton's A nightmare before Christmas
(what what? its
christmas already?!?!?only a mth or so away!)
6:16 PM
the physio student mugging for cardio and all things cardio related..
while singing songs in the head
you get this:
" thou changes not,
thy compressions they fail not..."
(frm Great is thy faithfulness)

went to hospital to visit yih yoong yest.
poor guy had a pneumothorax (collapsed lung) and ended up being admitted.
He's alright, thank God.
Just has a tube in to drain the air.
It was
so weird walking back into hospital being on the other side
ie. not seeing patients as a professional but frm the patient's perspective.
I was hoping not to bump into my supervisors.. haha.
and it was Melbourne Cup Day ( and a public hol! like it makes a diff to me..)
so they were all not working anyway. hiaks.
and melb cup's a whole other story..
walking back through the familar wards.. its like deja vu with all the memories of patients.
and then seeing yih hoong!
He was in this 3 bed room and i think he was having lots of visitors during the day, cos his roommate, who was coming out of the toilet, pointed me in his bed direction (seeing i am asian..AND YH was the only young bloke in the rm)
I have realised 2 things
1) Hospital food reALLY sucks.
thousand times worse than plane food.
and its supposed to be nutrituous for patients?
i don't think so
i wished i brought my digi cam with me.
I always used to get SO HUNGRY when pts were having their lunch and we were still whizzing round trying to get thru the patient loads...
and then i saw YH's dinner.
and it was gross.
this whitish-yellowish greyish mass ( YES, grey)
of dead looking brussel sprouts, cauliflower, a lump of mash and some onion cheese pie.
TOTALLY DISGUSTING i tell u.
we (darren, yh and i) looked at it and went " errr..."
And the nurses know how yucky it is.. cos they offered him sandwiches instead cos he didn't want his dinner.
WAH LAU! employ me leh! i think i can cook better food than that!~
2) Guys obesession with nurses
I tell u. its a guy thing.
they were SO checking out and chatting up the nurses.
It was hilarious.
So realise how impt it is to be nice to patients!
i dunno, when u do it as a professional, u just think u are doing your job, but when u see it from the patient's and their fam and friends persective, it really really really does make a difference in their lives and make their stay juz that bit more comfortable.
alright.
enough of my crap.
gotta get back to the books.
melbourne is DISGUSTINGLY HOT today.
top of 32!
like being baked
and the sky is cloudless and the sun relentless.
melting
melting melting.
2 more exam days to gooooooooooo!!!
