I had my clinic exam today.
stressed.. was SO over stressed this morning i felt like throwing up.
This constant nauseous feeling
even though i hadn't eaten breakfast.
(Now i semi know what a pregnant woman feels.. haha)
I think clinical exams are a thousand times worse than writtens.
Cause you actually gotta assess and treat and REAL patient.. in a max of 40 mins.. and be EFFECTIVE and SAFE.
and you know.. with a real patient.. u never know what they're gonna be like..
AND then.. u get 2 examiners watching you and asking you all these questions.
Bleah.
And out of the 3 specialities.. (cardio, neuro and musc)
i GOT MUSC.
which i thought was the WORST.. cos you NEVER know what they might give you .. can be ANYTHING under the sun... shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle.. can be fracture.. spinal conditions... rotator cuff repairs... ACL rehab..
With cardio and neuro.. at least its abit more predictable..
Cardio: walk patient and breathing exercises
Neuro: Do ANYTHING u want. they are so stuffed up anyway... so long u can explain why u are doing what u are doing.. Do whatever!
With musc.. u HAVE to treat specific to the condition and know the contraindications/precautions for each.
The possiblities were endless.. and i was SO hyperventilating the whole of yesterday (and decreasing my PaCO2 and increasing my risk of fainting..as Lauren puts it)
God is so good.
I think He is the only one that can calm the fears and anxiety within me.
Like.. even with pple calling me wishing me luck and my parents endless reassurance and support (i really appreciate it tho)
And its funny how my friend's joke was actually really gd encouragement..
because He put all these verses about JOY and PEACE and HOPE within me!!
When i was doing my QT last night..
Even today, when i was subconsiously singing songs in my head..
and after 20 mins.. i realised what the lyrics meant (and started laughing on the tram)
" There's no greater hope
There's no greater joy
All that ever need, i know i'd find in You"
And that "perfect love drives out all fear"!
Indeed. God is GOOD.
And of ALL the patients i got for my exam..
(with all my worrying and worrying..)
I got a Hip resurfacing patient!
(and i treated a patient with the exact same condition when i was doing my placement there earlier this yr..)
So.. it was all good
(ie.. enough to pass)
*cross fingers*
5 MORE TO GO!!!
